Who needs to install a speed limiter in Singapore?
All lorries in Singapore with a Maximum Laden Weight (MLW) above 3,500kg must be fitted with a speed limiter, as mandated by the Singapore Traffic Police. This includes commercial goods vehicles, transport lorries, delivery trucks and construction vehicles.
When does enforcement of the new rule begin?
Enforcement begins in January 2026. We strongly recommend booking early to avoid the rush near the deadline and to keep your operations running uninterrupted.
What speed will my lorry be limited to?
The speed limiter is calibrated to cap the vehicle's top speed at 60 km/h, in line with Singapore Traffic Police regulations for heavy commercial vehicles.
